Born in Kenya, but having lived most of her life in the UK, Deb Farnworth-Wood is a serial entrepreneur having owned and managed a diverse range of businesses.
Deb is confident that good leadership skills are transferable and has so far proved it with a number of successful businesses behind her. With experience in hospitality, retail and health sectors, she has coached, trained and mentored many managers along the way.
Deb has held a number of “firsts”. In her early career she was often the youngest in her position, she was the first non-doctor partner in a UK medical practice, the first non-pharmacist to own a UK pharmacy and opened England’s first drive-thru pharmacy.
Deb first saw Australian Skin Clinics while on holiday on the Gold Coast with her children in 2006 and made an impulse purchase. Her plan to retire with a “hobby-job” failed as she realised quickly that retirement is over rated. Instead she reconfigured the original Australian Skin Clinic and launched the Franchise which now stands at 60 clinics in Australia and New Zealand. In addition, Deb founded a shop-fitting company, an RTO, equipment supply and maintenance company and turned around a failing skincare company.
Deb speaks with passion about business growth and turnaround and has a unique perspective on staff theft and embezzlement.
