Our Story
Originally consisting of Jo Parnell (vox), Sean Crombie (keys), Sam Dobbins (guitar) and Claire Elizabeth (drums), Firelucy began writing and performing original music and covers in a number of sheds, bedrooms and living rooms in the Illawarra. With the duel shake-up that was Sam's departure overseas and the addition of his brother Joel Dobbins on bass, Firelucy found a unique instrumentation and sound. Their first demo 'Disease' was received remarkably well in early 2012, being played on VOX FM and Triple J Unearthed and getting Firelucy a mention in the Tertangala magazine. The gang have been hard at work writing their back-catalogue of material, performing with interstate bands who have worked with acts such as Gotye and Boy and Bear. Towards the end of 2012, the band recorded their first EP ('Puppet'), to be released 11th Jan 2013 at Dicey Riley's (debut single 'Red Wine' available now for free download at www.firelucy.com). With motions to expand their reach and audience in the New Year, Firelucy have been fortunate enough to play with some of the country's most successful and inspiring musicians.
